Frequently
Asked Questions
Must I have an estate in order to leave a gift?
Anyone can leave a gift and almost everyone has an estate. "Estate"
is simply a word used to describe any money, property, insurance or
personal belongings that you may have at the time of your death. Most
people leave an estate when they die, even if they might not have
a great deal of wealth.
Should I reveal that I've left a gift?
It's up to you. If you include us in your planning we can tell you
about specific opportunities for giving and ensure your objectives
for the gift will be met. We like to know in advance so we can recognize
your generosity but the choice is yours.
Who can help me arrange for making a gift?
If you have a professional advisor such as a financial planner, attorney,
accountant or insurance agent, please talk with them about leaving
a gift. A member of our Development staff will also be available to
talk to you about making such arrangements. We can be reached at (614)
233-9510.
How do I leave a gift in memory or in honor of a loved one?
A gift in memory is a wonderful way to honor someone who has made
a difference in your life. A memorial gift can be arranged in your
will.
Can I leave a gift for a specific purpose?

a specific purpose. We can help you with the necessary language |
