Making the Right Choice
Picking your college is one of the biggest, and at times, hardest choices you'll have to make.
Follow these guidelines if you are having trouble finding a school that's right for you:
Starting the search:
- Ask yourself:
- Is this school in a location that I want?
- Is this school the size I am looking for?
- Is this a school that I can afford with some financial assistance?
- Do they offer a degree in the major(s)/minor(s) I am interested in studying?
- Did my visit to the school "feel" right?
- Make a list of your Top 10, then as time goes on, narrow that list down to about 4-6 schools
Making the final choice:
- Make a Pro/Con list, naming the things you liked and disliked about your top 4-6 schools
- Compare the financial aid packages different schools can offer you
- Go with your gut! Choose the school that fits best in your mind.
Take time to talk with your school counselor and I Know I Can advisor about your choosing process. They are there to help you find the school that suits you best!
