I Know I Can
Helping Columbus City School Students Enter and Succeed in College

Volunteers

100_0008.JPG Volunteers are what make I Know I Can a success!  It is with their help that we are able to reach so many students across Columbus.

There are 5 ways to volunteer:
  1. IKIC Daytime Advisor

    • Most time-consuming, but also highly rewarding
    • Work one-on-one with high school students, once a week for the entire school year
    • Help with college admissions, financial aid processes and serve as a mentor
    • Motivate and encourage students

  2.  FAFSA Workshop Advisor
    • Assist 12th graders and parents with completing the FAFSA
    • Choose from 20 workshops held on weeknights and Saturday mornings in January - February

  3.  Newshawker
    • Help organize and sell our Special Edition newspaper during a one-day event in September to raise money for I Know I Can programs

  4.  Children's Book Reader
    • Be a guest reader of I Know I Can's self-titled book to Columbus City Schools 2nd graders in May.

  5.  Office Assistant
    • Answer phones for the main office
    • Help file paperwork
    • Miscellaneous secretarial work
